Hanging out in Bondi Beach
Just a short bus ride or car trip from the SW capital of Sydney, Bondi Beach is a must on your Australian to-do list. Pronounced with a long “i” as in Bonzai, Bondi is the place for beach days of sun and fun.
Dating back to the Sydney’s suburban expansion in the’50s, Bondi Beach’s unique name is derived from the Aboriginal term for “sound of waves crashing on rocks.”
With nearly one kilometer of white sand, Bondi Beach is a great place to get away from the populous Sydney and enjoy South Wales’ beautiful beaches. In their migratory months, schools of dolphins and even whales can be seen off the coast. The rare fairy penguin has even been known to make the occasional appearance.
For visitor orientation, start at the Pavilion Community Center and pick up some helpful information. This town hub also has changing rooms and showers for bathers, several eateries and an amphitheater.
Stroll down the shoreline and work on your suntan or watch the locals show off their bronze physiques. Bathe in the safe waters on the northern end of the beach, or head to the southern side where the more treacherous waves and tides are enjoyed by the world’s surfing community. Any surfer hungry for a taste of good waves should check out this surfing spot. Shark nets are added in the summer months for extra protection and lifeguards patrol the area constantly.
To immerse yourself in local beauty, try one of Bondi’s popular nature walks. From the old Pavilion (ca.’28), hike up to the cliffs of Bronte. You’ll encounter some of the oldest wonders of nature along the way in Hawkesbury’s sandstone belt, which paleontologists date to 225 million years in the past. Or make your way to Waverley Cemetery after stopping at the old bath houses in Bronte.
For a look at Bondi’s bikini culture, don’t miss the vibes on the southern beaches, where topless sunbathers thumb their noses to convention on a daily basis. Bondi hold the title in the Guinness Book of World Records: Largest Swimsuit Issue Photo Shoot in history.
Get into the groove of the wild City to Surf Fun Run which takes place every August. Participants make their way to Bondi Beach from Sydney’s center. Or go fly a kite in the annual Festival of the Winds in September.
Along the waterfront is a wide variety of cafes, restaurants and bars to suit any budget. Have a pint in one of the pubs and see why the locals are known for their friendliness.
Bondi Beach has been a popular location for film and television, such as the lifeguard show Bondi Rescue or the fictional Breakers.
At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Bondi hosted the beach volleyball tournament for all the world to see.
Visitors looking to spend a night or weeks in Bondi Beach will find accommodations in any price range. Backpacker hostels, small upscale hotels and charming bed-and-breakfasts are all options.
Only a thirty minute drive from downtown Sydney, take Oxford street from the capital and follow it as it turns into Enfield Drive and finally Bondi Road. Because parking can be so difficult, locals suggest arriving via public transportation to avoid the hassle. Numerous buses arrive from Sydney everyday.

Describing The Beauty Of a Paris Vacation
Not many people who have visited Europe have missed out Paris as it is one of the top destinations in the world. Most of the main attractions are in the centre of Paris where just over two million people live although when you enter the suburbs, that figure rises to almost ten million. Paris is one of the most traveled cities in Europe, if not the world, today.
Paris has the unique pleasure of being the international capital of fashion and art and when fashions are launched, it is normally from this city. This is also a city know for its associated with art and world famous artists with galleries and museums to please even the most discerning of visitors.
While Paris has plenty of famous attractions there are three that stand apart from the rest and should always be seen no matter how many times you visit. These three are world famous, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral and of course the Eiffel Tower each of which has many hundreds of thousands of tourists visit them every year.
However, when it’s a museum you want to visit, it has to be the Louvre which happens to be one of the most popular and largest in the world. Some of the most well known paintings and works of art are either stored or displayed here including the infamous Mona Lisa which is just one reason to visit.
As far as the weather is concerned, most tourists are lucky and can visit at any time of the year without too many worries about any form of extreme weather. During the winter months of December and January temperatures may fall into the upper 30’s to the lower 40’s and in the summer months, July and August in particular, 75 degrees Fahrenheit is the average temperature so this makes for easy travel in Paris regardless of what time of the year it is.
If you are flying to Paris, you will land at one of the two airports it currently has but will probably be the Roissy-en-France airport as it one of the busiest international airports in the world. As Roissy-en-France is so large it is able to have direct flights both incoming and outgoing to most of the international destinations.
Paris has always been and will continue to be a popular destination for the lovers of art, fashion, food and culture as well as those who just go to relax. If you want to plan a trip to a great destination Paris is one option that you should consider as it has a lot to offer no matter what your interests are.
However Paris is a beautiful city to visit, you should also try out Amsterdam. Not as big as Paris, but very much alive. Be sure to prepare your stay and book an apartment in Amsterdam before you leave home.

Visual Cues Add to the Dining Experience
People want a dining experience that allows them to take a break from their everyday problems and stresses. As soon as people walk into a restaurant, their assessment of the establishment begins. If they do not like the appearance and atmosphere of the restaurant, they are likely to turn around and walk out. The visual cues are fundamental components to attracting and retaining diners.
The atmosphere of a restaurant should project a sense of friendliness and relaxation. It should be attractive, clean, with well dressed wait staff. The atmosphere is one part of the dining experience that is remembered. For the restaurant owner, the atmosphere along with the food is essential qualities that will encourage repeat diners.
The ambiance of the restaurant must be pleasing to the eye. Ambiance will depend on the type of restaurant such as luxury, informal, or fast food. The atmosphere should emanate warmth and a welcoming. Many restaurants will use certain colors to help enhance the ambiance. Colors will reflect the theme. If it is a romantic restaurant, colors will be subtle and the lighting will be dim, but the candles will provide the right amount of lighting to see one another and their meals. The color green emphasizes restfulness and tranquility. Violet and purple emphasizes elegance and sophistication. Yellow emphasizes cheerfulness and warmth. The decor will say to a diner that the restaurant is elegant, stylish, and comfortable.
Luxury restaurants provide some of the loveliest atmosphere to enjoy a meal. Most restaurants take great care in their decor, design, and lighting, in order to provide a comfortable and pleasing ambiance. Restaurants that focus on a particular ethnic theme, such as Italian, Chinese, or Mexican, the furnishings and decorations will reflect and enhance the ethnic design. There may also be music to add to the ambience such as a certain type of music like romantic soft music, or there may be a performer such as a harpist, pianist, or a classical guitar player.
The aroma is an important part of a restaurant’s atmosphere. The aroma should be pleasing. For instance, an elegant restaurant may have a scent of flowers in the air. As well, people enjoy such aromas as fresh brewed coffee and oven-baked bread. Unpleasant odors will only cause a diner to leave and never return.
The temperature of the restaurant should make a diner comfortable. In the winter, the dining room should be warm and cozy. In the summer, it should be comfortably cool. The proper temperature allows the customer to relax and enjoy their meal.
Designing the best and most appealing atmosphere takes careful planning. It should be designed to attract a large number of people. The atmosphere taps into one’s senses such as sight, touch, smell, and hearing. The right atmosphere can relax guests and generate contentment as well as repeat customers. The proper atmosphere and food can make the dining experience pleasant, relaxing, and memorable.
